Barkademy is built on one simple belief: doggy daycare should be more than babysitting.

Why We Created It

We’ve seen too many daycares run on cuddles and chaos. Staff get overwhelmed, dogs get overstimulated, and parents eventually drift away.

We built Barkademy to solve that. It gives centres the structure they need to:

Who’s Behind Barkademy

Barkademy was created by Melita and Martin, a duo with decades of experience in animal care, behaviour, and natural wellness.

• Melita holds an Advanced Diploma in Naturopathy, Diplomas in Animal Nutrition and Animal Behaviour, and certification in Dog Training. She began her career in 1989 running a naturopathic clinic for humans and dogs, later becoming a weekly guest on Adelaide’s 5AA radio for four years. She’s lectured widely, published articles, studied behavioural grooming in the USA, and even trained alongside animal handlers with the Great Moscow Circus. Today, she specialises in enrichment, grooming, and daycare training across Australia.

• Martin brings over 20 years in the natural animal care industry, running a successful manufacturing business in Adelaide focused on safe, holistic animal products. He has collaborated closely with Melita to translate science-backed wellness into practical solutions for real-world care.

Together, we founded pDOG Lifestyle Centre, a thriving doggy daycare and grooming hub where enrichment isn’t an extra, it’s the daily routine. Barkademy is the system we created from years of hands-on practice:
